SPAM WARS: THE NEXT GENERATION

If you think your challenge-response software doesn't annoy people, including prospective clients, you're dreaming. And if you think spam filters don't block legitimate email, I've got a bridge to sell you. Law firms that rely on such antiquated technologies put their reputation and wallet on the line. Fortunately, spam technology has evolved. Case in point — Reflexion Total Control (RTC) with Address-on-the-Fly (AOTF) technology. Simply put, RTC enables anyone in your firm to create new email addresses on the fly as needed. For example, suppose Jane Doe wants to create an address for her TechnoLawyer newsletters. Using RTC, she might create the address "jdoe.technolawyer@yourfirm.com." These unique addresses have many advantages. They enable you to protect your primary email address, and control your email (clients, newsletters, personal messages, etc.). Also, using unique addresses enables you to detect when someone has shared your address with third parties. If you begin receiving spam at an address, you can now do something about it. For example, you can limit the receipt of mail to the entity to which you first provided the address or to those with whom you've corresponded using that address. You could completely shut down that address as well. RTC's AOTF technology has marketing applications too — you can use an address in conjunction with a marketing campaign or press release to track the responses. To take RTC to the next level, you can fully automate AOTF so that all new correspondents receive a different address by which to reach you. If you publish a newsletter, this automation can create a unique reply-to address for each recipient. In short, RTC's AOTF technology enables you to accomplish what traditional spam technology cannot — prevent spam from being sent to your primary address. Learn more about Reflexion Total Control.
