Reflexion Adds Web Security to its Suite of "in the Cloud" Solutions for SMB Market
WOBURN, Mass. — November 7, 2008 — Reflexion Networks, a leader in hosted email security, archiving and business continuity solutions for small and midsize businesses, today announced the global availability of Reflexion Web Security (RWS). This hosted or "in the cloud" service protects Web users from objectionable content and malicious intent, such as the distribution of malware for identity theft, financial fraud or corporate espionage.

Reflexion Web Security implements a thorough layered approach to provide a secure Web experience:
- URL Reputation Scoring — RWS classifies Web sites based on observed behavior, embedded content, and other characteristics. As a hosted service, it accumulates a dynamic reputation database based on the experience of all of its users around the world.
- URL Filtering —RWS uses a URL filtering database that classifies nearly 100 million sites. Policies can be easily implemented to block objectionable content on a user, group or enterprise level.
- Dynamic Anti-Malware Blocking — RWS utilizes advanced sandboxing technology, which protects Web browsers from script-based attacks that don’t require any user interaction, in conjunction with both signature and heuristic-based techniques to block malicious downloads.
- Reputation Correlation — In social networking and commerce sites, in particular, it is very helpful to know something about the person with whom you are dealing. RWS addresses this need by analyzing user reputation (of senders and posters, for example) and correlating that with site reputation for added insight about potential risks.
Advanced performance acceleration technology is used to maintain Internet speeds and avoid latency for the user, regardless of location.
RWS provides a browser-based interface to a dashboard for specifying rules, such as a company’s acceptable use policy for Web content, and obtaining reports. Policies can be set globally or on a group or individual basis, as appropriate, using LDAP, Active Directory, or the dashboard itself. Reports provide up-to-the-minute information on all Web traffic in or out of the corporate network.
